1. It is important to consistently work on your senior project, whether it is break or we are in school. What did you do over the break with your senior project?
I started putting the motor together. I had to assemble the pistons and rods. I then put a pressure ring on them and checked the deck height with my Grandpa. Once the height was checked we documented it for the machinist to make them the same height. I didn't realize how close the heights had to be. The ones we are machining are only 3 thousands of an inch away.
2. What was the most important thing you learned from what you did, and why? What was the source of what you learned? I learned hands on with my grandpa and my dad that building a motor properly requires time and precision there are specific steps and procedures you have to take in order build it correctly. The steps are so important that if you were to forget one or do it wrong it could ruin the whole motor.
3. Your third interview will be a 10 question interview related to possible answers for your EQ. Who do you plan to talk to and why? I plan to interview my grandpa because he has raced most of his life and he could give me ideas on setups he used that worked well.
