Blog 13: 10 Hour Mentorship Check-In

1.   Where are you doing your mentorship?
I am doing my mentorship at home for right now. I have left Hotchkis because it wasn't a good use of time for me. I didn't feel like I was learning anything new once I became an employee because they needed me to do work.

2.   Who is your contact?  What makes this person an expert?
Now my primary mentor is my dad and grandpa. My dad is a hard core automotive enthusiast and my grandpa spent numerous years drag racing and being on race teams. He also worked for many years at Felix Chevrolet as lead mechanic.

3.   How many  hours have you done during the school year?
So far I have done 56 hours just for the independent component alone. I will have many more hours in this project to do the chassis and the bodywork and assembly. I project another 15 to 20 hours in just my independent component. I may have bit off more than I can chew, I makes it easier that I love this topic.

4.   Succinctly summarize what you did, how well you and your mentor worked together, and how you plan to complete the remaining hours.
My mentor and I are family so as usual we have but heads a bit but I am enjoying my time and learning tons. Every day after school I work on it if I don'
t have any homework or if I finish it quickly. I also spend every Sunday working on it.
